Against throwaway culture We fight throwaway culture by developing circular solutions to extend and minimise the strain on the planet. |
For a carbon neutral future We only use what is necessary and only clear the essential parts of the land. Our aim to live in harmony with the nature around us |
For increased joy We create a positive impact on the quality of life for people and communities. |
We want to offer inspiring, meaningful, disrupting alternatives for throwaway culture. We know it’s the small things that we do each day that have a big impact on us and our future. We will look to showcase our innovate approach as a model for sustainable living for a socially responsible future.

At The Great House we are not spectators of a community but rather we are part of the heritage and ecology to save the planet. While you’re with us, we invite you to immerse yourself and become a part of the transformation.

Sustainability and social impact are not just concepts that we preach or do, but rather are at the core of who we are. Our vision is more than a philosophy: the merging of a blissful paradise holiday, being environmentally conscious and socially responsible, all the while creating everlasting memories. We strive for a community with a zero carbon footprint, empty of waste, toxins and plastic.
Supply chains are one of the biggest impacts on our planet, our hyper-local approach seeks to truly limit that impact. We also make sure that all of the items we purchase can be reused or recycled locally, that all of our food waste can be reused (e.g. for biomass) and we are committed to ensure that no waste ends up in landfill. Single-use plastic is not used throughout our resort. The latter is particularly important to us, since being an island, surrounded by beautiful blue ocean we have seen first-hand the negative impact single-use plastic has on our marine life.
We strive to put your health and well-being at the very center of your travel experience. Guests in our facilities can enjoy fresh picked fruits, vegetables and seasonal menus that offer farm to table items grown on site or at local sustainable farms…
Our approach at The Great House places a real emphasis on making everything connected to our resort ‘hyper-local’. The concept is simple, by buying local produce from our beautiful island we reduce our impact upon the environment and provide opportunities to support the local community and economy.
